Yes, BDS offers online courses for Teen, Adult and Defensive Driving students. Who will teach my teen drivers education? BDS classroom and in-car instructors are licensed by the Texas Education Agency. Where do I go to get my Instruction Permit or Drivers License? Any Texas Department of Public Safety Drivers License Office How do I qualify for my Instruction Permit? Students attending BDS will qualify after attending class 3 consecutive days (6 hours) and a) Texas Drivers Education Certificate for Instruction Permit issued by BDS b) Valid Identification - Birth Certificate, Texas Identification Card, Passport c) Social Security Card - Original Card d) Verification of Enrollment - Obtain from school attendance office e) Parent/Guardian - A parent or legal guardian must accompany teen. If parents are unable to accompany student. Parents will need to complete and have notarized Drivers License Application Form and Supplemental Examination DL-40 How do I qualify for my Texas Drivers License? BDS will issue student a Texas Drivers Education Certificate for Drivers License upon successful completion of the in classroom, in car instructions and road test. The student takes the Certificate to Texas Department of Public Safety Drivers License Office for issuance of the actual license. NOTE: Texas Law mandates that all students Road Test with the Texas Department of Public Safety. What is the attendance/absence policy? A full hour of absence is charged to the student when he/she does not attend the full 55 minutes of instruction during a 60-minute period. If a student is absent in excess of 10 classroom hours, the student enrollment will be terminated. What is the refund policy? This is an abbreviated version, the complete refund policy is contained in the student contract. a) Refund computations based on actual instruction received through last date of attendance b) Effective date of the termination for refund is the earliest date of - last day of attendance if student terminated by BDS - date receipt of written notice from the student - 10th school day following last day of attendance c) If tuition paid in advance and if after the 72 hour cancellation privilege, the student does not enter BDS, terminates enrollment, or withdraws, BDS may retain up to $50 as administrative expenses; and from the remainder refund that portion of classroom tuition and fees and behind the wheel tuition and fees for services not previously received by the student. d) Refunds shall be completed within 30 days after effective date of termination |
